OneNZ plan to install 8 new 5G transmitters to the Devonport region.

Existing cell towers in the Devonport area produce an electromagnetic radiation (EMR) level that scientific literature has documented to be harmful to humans and the entire living environment. The exposure map of the current EMR level can be found here, and existing cell-sites overlaid on the exposure map is found here. Additional transmitters will increase the EMR levels even further. The proposed locations of the new transmitters can be found here.

An action group of concerned Devonport residents will lead this campaign. SaferTechNZ is committed to organising and advising this group, and providing relevant research evidence.

Campaign Aims:

  • Delay the initial installation.
  • Stop the installation of any additional transmitters. Failing that, aim for relocation.
  • Relocate the proposed transmitters to a safer distance from homes and schools.

Action Group:

  • Coordinator: Michael Fleck.
  • Meetings: Friday’s at 11 am at The Devon on the Wharf.
  • Discuss and strategise on approaches to the campaign actions in the meetings. Delegate tasks based on group strengths and experience.
